Come into new york
6am
The only ones not sleeping
Talk to themselves
Under there breath
Cursing insomnia and cliché
I balance the load
Between two hands
Like a good libra
I check into a starbucks
Steal my wifi from the empire
Thumb taping my only link
To a world left behind
In two weeks time
I return to reclaim
Even if the gods shout my name.
I hate starbucks
But it is refuge from the refuse blowing down 33rd street
Waiting for a city to wake up,
Maybe it's waiting for me.
